Ballard FC is gearing up for an exciting international friendly. We will host historic club Chivas de Guadalajara’s U23 team this Tuesday, June 4th at Memorial Stadium, with kickoff at 7:00pm. This clash promises to be a showcase of the highest level of young talent, putting last year’s USL2 national champions against the reigning Liga MX U-23 winners.
CHIVAS LAST MATCH
Yesterday, Chivas U23 faced off against Spokane Velocity in a thrilling international friendly at ONE Spokane Stadium. The young Chivas side showcased their aggressive and dynamic play, equalizing through a defensive mishap in the first half. However, Spokane’s experience and resilience prevailed, with goals from Josh Dolling and Kimarni Smith securing the 2-1 win for Velocity. Chivas’ relentless pressure and raw talent were evident throughout, promising a strong test for Ballard FC.
Coming off this narrow defeat, Chivas U23 will be eager to bounce back at Memorial. Fans will have their eyes on Antonio Herrera, a standout player for Chivas who is on loan from our local side Tacoma Defiance, as he brings his impressive skills to the field. Chivas U23 and Ballard now have a common opponent in Spokane Velocity. In the Open Cup, Ballard FC fell to the Velocity in the final seconds. You can read about that match here. With both team suffering narrow defeats to Spokane in recent months, this should be a thrilling affair.
