We’re thrilled to introduce ourselves as Salmon Bay FC, Ballard’s newest women’s soccer team and sister team to Ballard FC. Salmon Bay FC will compete in the USL W League starting spring 2025.
Why Salmon Bay FC? The Salmon Bay is the vital waterway that connects our community to the wider world. Just like the bay connects Ballard to the sea, we’re here to connect talented local players with opportunities in women’s soccer, while building a stronger community through soccer.
Our badge design pays homage to recognizable local landmarks: the majestic Olympic Mountains rising above the Salmon Bay Bridge and the water surrounded by lush trees. You might notice some resemblance to Ballard FC’s design with the bridge, water, and shape of our crest – that’s intentional. While we’re carving out our own unique identity, we’re proud to be part of this growing soccer club in Seattle.
Salmon Bay FC’s inaugural season will kick off at the newly renovated Interbay Stadium in 2025. This is a place where everyone in the family can enjoy great soccer in a welcoming atmosphere. We’re also excited to share that Wombi, the innovative e-bike subscription service, is joining us as both the Salmon Bay FC and Ballard FC title sponsor.
Our shared ownership group includes some familiar faces from the Seattle soccer scene, including Lauren Barnes, captain of Seattle Reign FC, alongside other influential women in Seattle sports and business. Together, we’re committed to growing women’s soccer and creating more opportunities for athletes and fans alike in our community.
